We're seeking a Compliance Officer for our Mortgages and Financial Planning pillar to deliver clear, pragmatic guidance safeguarding clients, colleagues, and the business through a risk-based approach.

The role involves adhering to the Compliance Monitoring Plan, conducting quality assurance on adviser files for mortgages, consumer credit, and protection, and handling complaints from investigation to conclusion. You'll produce audit reports, management information, and complete FCA RegData reports while implementing consumer due diligence and suspicious activity investigations.

Requirements

  • Experience in financial services, especially mortgages
  • Knowledge of FCA principles and regulations
  • Understanding of the requirements under The Consumer Duty
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a structured, regulatory driven and process orientated environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually
  • CeMap or equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and complete monitoring and operational tasks as set out in the Department’s Compliance Monitoring Plan
  • Conduct quality assurance of adviser files including regulated and non-regulated mortgages, consumer credit, and pure protection
  • Provide face-to-face feedback where appropriate
  • Write and implement thematic reviews
  • Produce compliance audit reports regarding audits conducted
  • Handle complaints from investigation through to conclusion
  • Produce management information
  • Complete internal suspicious activity investigations and NCA reporting
