About this role

IQT is seeking an Investment Intern based in London to support sourcing investment opportunities, conducting diligence, and assisting portfolio management across IQT’s EMEA investments. The ideal candidate brings enthusiasm for contributing to IQT’s mission, working with technology-focused startups, and demonstrating world-class rigor in analysis with a bias towards output. This internship begins in May and runs through August, syncing with IQT’s US-based program.

Engage in deal sourcing by identifying startups aligned with IQT’s focus areas through research, conferences, and ecosystem engagement. Support meetings and calls with candidate companies to produce written assessments of technological and business merits. Perform competitive and market analyses while identifying emergent regional and global technology themes.

Provide deal support by contributing research to investment theses, including documents on technologies, markets, business models, and risks. Interact with pipeline companies and IQT US to facilitate pre-deal requests. Manage portfolio and pipeline data in a CRM tool and build custom reports for presentations.

This 100% in-office role in central London requires availability for periodic global calls outside work hours. Reside in the commutable area by May 2026. Applications will start being reviewed in November.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to contractual reasons
  • Must reside in the commutable area of central London currently or by May 2026
  • Enthusiasm for the IQT mission
  • Domain knowledge in at least one technology area (space, microelectronics, biotechnology, energy, artificial intelligence, cyber, etc.)
  • Prior professional experience in business analysis, finance, or strategy-focused roles
  • Sharp writing abilities, particularly to express complex ideas comprehensively yet succinctly
  • Passion for working with early-stage technology companies
  • Superior critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Identify startups well aligned with IQT’s investment focus areas through research, conferences, and other ecosystem engagement
  • Support meetings and calls with candidate companies to produce written assessments of technological and business merits and challenges
  • Perform competitive and market analyses related to investment opportunities
  • Identify emergent regional and global technology themes by tracking publications and attending conferences
  • Support research related to deal investment theses including contributions to documents that describe technologies, markets, business models, and investment risks
  • Interact with pipeline companies and IQT US to facilitate pre-deal requests
  • Manage, maintain, and analyze portfolio and pipeline data within a CRM tool
  • Build and maintain custom reports in support of IQT presentations
