About this role
We are an ambitious and supportive Corporate Finance team of 17, focused on helping entrepreneurial clients build and realise value over their growth journeys. We work across high-growth sectors including Tech & Media and Business Services. Our M&A team of six is dedicated to advising on transactions in the £10m to £100m+ space.
Deals range from cash outs for entrepreneurs of high growth businesses to acquisition strategies for large corporates, with vast experience in cross-border M&A. The role involves working more autonomously on simpler transactions with junior support, and alongside Directors/Partners on complex ones. You will plan and carry out assignments to a high standard, taking ownership.
We work closely together, driven to shape our business for the future in culture and work. The team has an excellent track record of fast-tracking careers with incredible opportunities. As Associate Director, you will bring a different perspective to evolve the team.
You will be the main day-to-day client contact as their trusted advisor, while mentoring juniors and assisting with resourcing. Proactive involvement in business development is key, generating ideas for opportunities. This position supports growing and developing the M&A team over time.
Requirements
- ACA/ACCA/CFA qualified (or equivalent)
- Corporate finance experience in delivering disposals to trade and private equity, acquisitions, and fundraisings
- Ability to build relationships with clients and intermediaries, leading in meetings as main point of contact
- Managerial experience in developing and training junior team members, briefing, supervising and reviewing work
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commercial and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work across multiple projects and handle pressurised situations
- Experience of working in a similar role within an Accountancy Practice
Responsibilities
- Involvement in a range of transactions from trade sales to private equity deals, working autonomously with junior support on simpler ones
- Planning and carrying out assignments to a high standard, taking ownership and adhering to professional and ethical standards
- Briefing, supervising and reviewing work of junior team members, providing constructive feedback
- Acting as the main day-to-day point of contact for clients as their trusted advisor
- Developing trust and good relationships with clients and referrers
- Mentoring and developing junior Managers and Executives, reviewing their work
- Assisting with management of resourcing across the team
- Taking proactive involvement in business development opportunities, generating ideas
