About this role

We are a leading international law and professional services firm providing legal, corporate and fiduciary services to global corporations, financial institutions, capital market participants and investment fund managers. This varied role sits in the firm's global Office of the General Counsel, encompassing in-house legal and risk work. It is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Review and negotiate client terms and third party supplier contracts, while drafting NDAs and internal business management agreements. Maintain the firm's Data Protection framework, advise on Data Protection issues, and support DSARs. Monitor legal and regulatory updates and draft business protection policies.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer, preferably with some experience in legal practice and/or in a risk management role
  • Data protection knowledge/experience preferred
  • Commercial contracts experience preferred
  • Experience working in an international law firm preferred
  • Excellent commercial awareness with a pragmatic attitude and international outlook
  • High level of professional competence, rigour and judgment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Confident and credible when dealing with internal stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and negotiating client terms
  • Supporting on global projects, including developing and improving suite of engagement documents
  • Reviewing and negotiating third party supplier contracts
  • Drafting and reviewing NDAs and other contractual documents
  • Drafting and maintaining internal business management agreements
  • Reviewing and maintaining the firm's Data Protection framework
  • Advising on Data Protection issues and supporting on DSARs
  • Advising on legal and regulatory issues and monitoring updates
